End of the 2013 River Season

— Molly / Friday, August 30, 2013

The 2013 season came to an official end on August 29th, with our last Middle Fork of the Salmon River trip coming off the water. It has been another unforgettable season spent with incredible people on the most beautiful rivers in the country.

This August was a challenging month for ECHO with a large forest fire closing the Wild and Scenic section of the Rogue River for 3 weeks. One of our cancelled Rogue trips moved to the Deschutes River and it turned out to be a fantastic experience for the guests and our guides.

"Our crew did a fantastic job. I really appreciate all the hard work that everyone contributed to reschedule our trip from the Rogue to the Deschutes."

In Idaho forest fires, landslides, and low water kept us on our toes, but the guides worked tirelessly to keep our trips running smoothly. We made it through more prepared than ever for whatever is thrown our way in 2014.

Here are more guest quotes from both the Rogue and the Middle Fork of the Salmon:

“Every moment of our trip was perfect, in spite of and maybe even because of the wildfire. I cannot wait to come back and do another ECHO trip. Four stars all around.”

“This was a spectacular way to see southern Oregon, spend time with family and friends, and experience the great outdoors. For a couple of Texans on their first rafting expedition, our tales are as tall as your trees.”

“The guides were just fantastic! They really made the trip - a perfect blend of fun, instruction, and safety. Thank you! We haven't even been back a week, and we are trying to figure out a plan to do a trip with ECHO next summer!”

"Our family had one of the most memorable vacations with ECHO and one that we will remember always. It was an amazing adventure every day.”

We appreciate each and everyone one of our guests that joined us in 2013! You made this another great summer for ECHO. The families we meet and friendships we create make every ounce of the work we do worth it. And despite all of nature's obstacles this summer, we have loved sharing these very special rivers with you!
