Rafting the Rogue River Canyon

Jeremy Matlock

Rogue and Middle Fork of the Salmon Guide

Jeremy MatlockJeremy was first introduced to rafting when his mom took him on a trip for his fourteenth birthday. He was instantly hooked and began exploring rivers all over the northwest. Now he is seventeen years older and he has guided over 25 different rivers in New Zealand, Mexico, Bolivia, and the United States.

Jeremy has had a few detours in his guiding career. He attempted Navy Seal training before working in the Navy as a rescue swimmer and communication specialist. He has also worked for the BLM and the National Park Service as a river ranger.

He is back working for ECHO after a few seasons as a river ranger because he is unable to break away from what he calls the "ultimate lifestyle." Jeremy will spend most of his season on the Rogue and says, "Out of all the rivers I've been fortunate enough float, none quite compare to the Rogue's beautiful wildlife."

Jeremy has a reputation for being great with kids, fun to be around, and for his big smile.
