Over the years we have found few combinations that work as well as rafting
by day and music by night, so each year we offer trips with bluegrass musicians
Laurie Lewis and Tom Rozum. These trips have a loyal following and typically
sell out quickly!
For 2008, Laurie and Tom decided to do this five day trip on the Rogue
as well as a three day trip on California's Tuolumne
River.
The Rogue River
Laurie and Tom enjoy the Rogue River for the excellent wildlife
and the opportunity to brave the whitewater in inflatable kayaks. On
this trip, we will spend four days rafting the wild and scenic Rogue River
and an additional day exploring Laurie’s favorite section of the river.
Each evening, Laurie and Tom will fill the camp with lively bluegrass.
They typically bring a guitar, mandolin and a fiddle for their own
use and encourage guests to bring their “river instruments” (make
sure you have a waterproof bag!) and join in the jam.
As always, ECHO guides provide all of the cooking and clean-up of sumptuous breakfasts, lunches and dinners. As our guests, you can kick back and enjoy the scenery, stars, whitewater and wildlife.
