Passing the Paddle

— Joe Daly / Thursday, March 5, 2015

Hello Friends of ECHO,

On April 1, 2015 a major transition takes place for ECHO. That is the day we (Joe Daly and Dick Linford) pass the ECHO ownership paddle to Zach Collier, ECHO’s long-time general manager. Except for Zach’s radiant smile, you will not notice the difference because the company name stays the same and the guides continue their usual excellent work. Only Zach changes his title from general manager to owner.

For us (Joe and Dick), ECHO has been a great 43-year career of running magnificent rivers, meeting amazing guests and working with exceptional guides. Who could ask for a more enjoyable "work" situation? But we all have to retire at some point, and our time is now.

We have worked with Zach for 18 years and have watched him grow into each position he has held as a guide, head guide, area manager, general manager, and now owner. We are fully confident he will carry on the "ECHO Way" of running adventure trips, sending people home knowing they had a very special experience.

Thanks for all the good times, keep your bow downstream and enjoy your next trip with ECHO.

All the best,

Dick and Joe

Joe Daly

Joe is the co-owner of ECHO and one of the most memorable people you'll ever do a river trip with. Watch out for Elton Joe, the most modern man in America, or one of his other alter egos. One more thing, he throws a weird but accurate horseshoe, so be alert.
