Advanced Whitewater School on the Middle Fork in Idaho
Dates: May 28 - June 3, 2008 (1 spot left!)
Price: $795
Requirements: Previous
ECHO guide school (or equivalent), and application
For
those who have already taken our professional
guide school, we offer
an advanced whitewater school on the Middle
Fork of the Salmon River in Idaho. We expect trainees in this
school to be comfortable camping, cooking, and setting up camp along
the river.
The focus of the school will be paddle boating and running Class III and IV whitewater. We'll be flipping boats, swimming rapids, and covering whitewater topics each night in camp. You'll be expected to spend time in the river swimming rapids, flipping rafts, and practicing rescue scenarios.
The first day will be spent at put-in getting the boats ready and covering some swiftwater rescue topics. After five days on the Middle Fork, we'll drive back to Salmon and have a final day of class at our Salmon guide house. The advanced whitewater school is open to those who have previously taken our professional guide school and will include current ECHO guides.
Our advanced whitewater school is not for the faint of heart. We are looking for people with a strong work ethic and a desire to take on some amazing challenges in potentially cold weather. We will also have the time of our lives and meet some spectacular people!
Disclaimer: Guide School schedule and location are subject to weather, river flows, and open roads.
